BAND

Words from the President of the Gospel Brass Band
Malcolm Elliott

Unity Mission Church has had such a huge impact on my life. More than a church, Unity Mission is a family. You can feel the love radiating through it’s walls and the presence of God greeting you before you can even make it out of the parking lot. Time and time again, Unity Mission has proved to be a place where you can come swap your troubles for joy. No matter what storms you may be facing in your life and how close you may be to giving up, Unity Mission believes and teaches that you can always find solace in the name of Jesus. We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us, and without him we can do nothing.

This Church is a home away from home. Behind the teachings of the our late Pastor, the great Dr. Harold Taylor, and now Pastor Sivena LaShelle Taylor, Unity Mission Church has provided it’s members with the tools needed to combat Satan and any evildoers we may encounter while maneuvering throughout this wicked world.  Pastor Sivena LaShelle Taylor teaches us to pray without ceasing, she teaches us the special blessing behind fasting and the benefits of paying your tithes and offerings. She teaches us the importance of praising the Almighty God. I am now a witness that when the praises go up, the blessings come down.

Being a part of the band has also been a huge blessing in my life. I can recall numerous times where I would just get spiritually lost in the sound of the music and all of a sudden every burden that was weighing me down seemed to just float away.  Whether it’s the music, the dancing, or the word of God, Unity Mission Church offers a plethora of outlets in which you can indulge yourself in the Spirit of the Lord. Unity Mission Church, through the leadership of Pastor Sivena LaShelle Taylor, continues to do great works in the community, extending a special hand to help get the struggling youth off of the streets and does so by giving them something constructive to do in the church.

All in all, I thank God for Unity Mission Church. It is a blessing and a privilege to be a member of this Great Church. I could never repay Unity Mission Church for the way that it has impacted my life. May God bless you.
